This is by far the tour we are most excited about! That and Eric Prydz...but he's next year so we'll get to him later! Danny Howells is a fave with all the posters here and his tour is shaping up to be epic at the least.
According to Danny's website, he will be in Australia from the 31st of October until the 10th of November.
The gigs you will find us at;
Darkbeat featuring Danny Howells on the 4th of November at Brown Alley, Melbourne
and
Empire in Brisbane on the 7th of November.
Word on the street is both gigs will be extended sets from Danny which is quite frankly, just what the doctor ordered.
Check out Danny Howell's latest release CD - Renaissance: The Mix Collection, by Danny Howells. It's 2 CD's of deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse like only Danny can deliver. Hopefully we'll have a review of this masterpiece of shortly...god only knows it's on near constant repeat in all our CD players!
Buy the CD online through Renaissance (UK) or Stomp (Aus).
Tickets to see Danny at Darkbeat in Melbourne can be purchased here or here.
Check out Darkbeat's Facebook group for more information on their upcoming events!

m1kest4r - October Mix 2008
Naturally being very interested in all things progressive, I also am a DJ. Currently only of the bedroom variety but one day hoping to make it out in to club land. I spin everything progressive related I guess so from mix to mix my tracklists can look very different.
A little about me next... 23 years from Melbourne. I've been DJ'ing for about 3 years now. Musically I started off (in the electronic world) listening to Melbourne techno legends Wetmusik (Simon Digby & Will E Tell) and all their crew (Alpharisc etc). I got in to trance after that through some Slinky mix CD's and attended my first big event in 2003 at Slinky where I saw Signum, Dave Lea & Lisa Lashes. Over the years I started to get in to house through the more mainstream route then I have sort of gone full circle all over again and I'm solidly in 'techy' kind of country.

Welcome
We're starting this blog to hopefully showcase what's good in the world of progressive house as we see it from Australia. We aren't overly known as a progressive house country but we've birthed some greats who could fall under the prog banner - such as the Balance CD series, Luke Chable & on the techier side of things Phil K.
However there's a lot more to it than that, there are plenty of upcoming progressive DJ's in Australia... waiting to be discovered. We hope that we can shed some light on these people. Maybe the next Sasha & Digweed will be found or the next S.O.S or even the next Danny Howells.
This blog will just be a place to find information on new tunes, progressive related gigs in Australia, sets from unknown DJ's and already established DJ's.
We hope that you will enjoy it and all the progressive house, deep house, tech house, minimal tech, minimal, techno, house, breaks, electro house, vocal house, funky house and anything else we feel like pimping out!
